Description
Listening is one of the most important things we can do when supporting others: but we can get this wrong! This informative, engaging and practical course is designed to support you in developing your relationship building and ‘repairing’ capacities to enable you to work more effectively when supporting children and young people. We will look at the core skills needed for listening effectively, as well as consider factors that can get in the way: the ‘roadblocks’ of listening well.
You will leave his course feeling more confident, knowledgeable and skilled in terms of understanding the power of listening and using this to support others.
AIMS
- To define ‘good’ listening.
- To introduce the ‘core’ conditions of person-centred therapy.
- To practise and enhance listening skills, in line with the ‘core’ conditions of person-centred therapy.
- To gain confidence in applying these skills and reflect upon personal development and growth.
