Description

This online workshop will provide parents with an overview of Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and explore how anxiety and emotional distress can impact school attendance. The session will include:

• Understanding EBSA and the factors that can contribute to school avoidance
• Recognising early signs and indicators of emotional distress
• Preventative approaches and early support strategies
• Understanding behaviour as communication and exploring underlying emotional needs
• Practical, evidence-informed strategies to support children at home and in collaboration with school
• Supporting emotional regulation, connection, and confidence building

The workshop aims to provide a compassionate and supportive space for parents to develop understanding, reflect on their child’s experiences, and consider helpful next steps.
