Description

Play is the natural language of children, and through it they make sense of their world and express their emotions. It is a vital part of every child’s development, supporting enjoyment, emotional well-being, communication, and learning.

In this one-hour online session, Ella will explore why play is so essential, how it helps children to express their feelings, build resilience, and develop self-esteem, and the important role adults play in supporting meaningful play experiences. Grounded in child-centred play therapy principles, this workshop introduces practical skills such as tracking, responsive listening, reflecting feelings, returning responsibility to the child, and using the ACT model of limit-setting.

Parents and teachers will also learn how to structure and facilitate 1:1 play sessions using a carefully selected kit of toys. Facilitating play actively supports children’s cognitive, emotional, and social development.
